Four Tons and 924 Kilograms of Hashish Seized in Sla Jadida, Drug Trafficking Attempt Foiled

In the early hours of Tuesday, July 8, police officers from the Sla Jadida security district successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of hashish, seizing four tons and 924 kilograms of the drug.

The operation took place in the outskirts of Sla Jadida city, where authorities intercepted a utility vehicle carrying 122 bundles of hashish weighing a total of 4.924 tons, intended for international trafficking. In addition, a rubber boat equipped with an outboard motor was seized. The driver of the vehicle managed to flee before police arrived.

A judicial police unit has opened an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case and to apprehend all individuals involved in this criminal activity.

This operation highlights the ongoing security efforts by the General Directorate of National Security to combat international drug trafficking and the circulation of narcotics, aiming to maintain public safety and stability.
