Arrest of Suspect Accused of Assaulting Female Doctor Inside Private Clinic in Casablanca

Casablanca – The King’s Prosecutor at the Ain Sebaa Court of First Instance decided on Thursday to prosecute a person accused of assaulting a female doctor inside a private clinic in Casablanca, and placed him in pre-trial detention. The suspect has been charged with assault and battery, defamation, and forming a criminal gang, following an incident that occurred approximately two weeks ago.

The individual in question was brought before the Public Prosecution this morning in a case that has sparked widespread discontent among professional medical circles.

The National Coordination of General Practitioners in the Private Sector and the National Coalition of Liberal Sector Doctors had issued a joint statement on Wednesday, strongly condemning the incident and describing it as “criminal behavior that threatens the safety of healthcare workers and undermines the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.”

The two organizations called on the relevant authorities to expedite the arrest of the assailant, conduct a fair investigation, and implement legal procedures without delay. They also emphasized the importance of providing effective protection inside clinics and healthcare facilities through strengthening security measures and legal support, and ensuring that perpetrators of such assaults do not escape punishment.
